Abstract: Education in Bharat has faced multifaceted challenges within the Indian education system, exploring the complexities of inequalities in access, quality deficiencies, high dropout rates, and the issue of skill mismatch. Through a comprehensive analysis, the paper examines rural- urban disparities, gender gaps, and socio- economic inequalities that restrict access to quality education for a significance portion of the population. It sheds light on the compromising effects of inadequate infrastructure and curriculum deficiencies on the overall quality of education. Furthermore, the paper discusses the detrimental impact of high dropout rates on literacy and skill development, especially among marginalized communities. With an emphasis on identifying these challenges, the paper proposes strategic pathways for progress. It emphasizes collaborative efforts between educational institutions, industries, and policymakers to address disparities, enhance quality, reduce dropout rates, and align educational programs with the changing demands of job market. These pathways aim to foster inclusivity, improve infrastructure, and bridge the skill gap, thereby contributing to india’s more equitable and progressive educational landscape.
