Abstract: Increasing citations strengthens our research’s academic relevance, verifies our findings, and directly influences career advancement and funding prospects. More citations demonstrate that our friends are actively expanding on our work. One of the most important objectives of a scholars, researchers and scientists is to increase the impact of his research but the impact of good research is not always increased by high citation rates. This paper examines research strategies that have proven effective in increasing citations to a research output by making it more discoverable and accessible. We explore the efficacy of open access publishing, the strategic use of keywords and the importance of academic social networking as a means of attracting readers. In addition, we talk about the significance of choosing high impact journals and how clear and memorable journal titles help to increase citations. Citations serve as the currency of modern academia, metricizing a scholar’s reach, credibility, and overall scientific contribution. While research quality remains the foundational determinant of academic impact, structural and promotional strategies heavily influence citation velocity. This paper investigates evidence-based methodologies to increase citation frequency. These are all practical optimizations that can help researchers become more visible and gain broader scholarly attention, and ultimately help researchers have a greater impact over time, if you want to increase your citations publish open access, sharing on social media, optimizing keywords, and networking with peers to boost research visibility.
