Abstract: Urban infrastructure plays a crucial role in promoting economic development by improving productivity, mobility, employment opportunities, investment, and the overall quality of urban life. Thru technology-enabled public services, enhanced transportation, digital connectivity, water and sanitation facilities, solid waste management, energy efficiency, and sustainable urban planning, the execution of Smart City initiatives has added new dimensions to the development of urban infrastructure. In light of this, the current study investigates how urban infrastructure supports Madurai District's economic growth, paying particular attention to Smart City projects. The study focuses on evaluating the state of significant urban infrastructure facilities and analyzing how they contribute to the creation of jobs, income opportunities, investment, business development, public service accessibility, and inclusive economic growth. While secondary data can be gathered from government reports, Madurai Smart City Limited, municipal records, and pertinent publications, primary data can be gathered from households, business owners, merchants, and other stakeholders in specific Madurai District areas. Percentage analysis, mean score analysis, ranking techniques, Chi-Square test, correlation analysis, and regression analysis will all be used in the study as needed. In addition to offering appropriate policy recommendations for attaining sustainable and inclusive urban economic growth in Madurai District, the study is anticipated to highlight the key economic advantages and difficulties related to Smart City infrastructure.
